Ovill McKenzie to fight Victor Ramirez for IBF title on October 2

Ovill McKenzie (25-12, 13 KOs) will fight Victor Ramirez (22-2, 17 KOs) for the IBF cruiserweight title on October 2 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Ramirez, of Argentina, was scheduled to challenge Yoan Pablo Hernandez on numerous occasions, however, Hernandez has been unable to defend the IBF title since August 2014, due to injuries and illnesses, and was forced to vacate the belt.
Ramirez outpointed Ola Afolabi in April to win the interim IBF title, and has now been elevated to champion and will make his first defence against the Jamaican-born British fighter McKenzie, who comes in on late notice to get the world title shot.
McKenzie is the British and Commonwealth champion and is on a four fight winning streak.
