Con “The Bomb” Sheehan Explodes into Irish Title Contention!

Con ‘The Bomb’ Sheehan registered an explosive victory in Manchester on Saturday night.

In what was just his third fight, the Tipperary heavyweight made the big jump up to eight rounds and made himself title eligible despite the fact the fight didn’t make it into round two.

The show promoted jointly by Asif Vali and Dennis Hobson Jnr in aid of the Zak Vali Foundation was broadcast live on new free to view boxing channel It’s A Bout Boxing TV.

Sheehan took on Czechian Radek Varak at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground, and passed the test with flying colours.

The Peter Fury-trained former amateur star knocked out the 39 year old in the first round, taking the short route to victory for the first time since turning over in the process.

His Central European opponent came into the clash with confidence following a win over English debutant Lee Carter two weeks ago, but was no match for a fighter Peter Fury believes will be a heavyweight star.

In the post fight interview Con told Marcus Anderson the shows host “I would like to have gone a little longer, but I could feel he was hurt so I thought, get the job done, which is what I did”

Sheehan’s rapidly growing professional record now reads 3(1)-0 and he is slated to have one more bout in October before boxing for an early Irish title in Belfast on November 5th.
